Candle Care

In order to get the most out of your candle, you'll have to care for it. By following our tips below you will maximise candle safety whilst also ensuring optimal candle burn time and quality.

1. When you first light your candle, leave it lit for around 40 seconds until the flame becomes stable, then blow it out and allow the wax to cool once again
2. Before re-lighting, trim the wick so that most of the blackened wood is removed, leaving around 1/2 a centimetre to relight. This can be done using wick trimmers, nail cutters or, if the candle is sufficiently cool, your fingers. Remove any debris that may have collected in the candle
3. When re-lighting the candle keep it lit for at least 2 hours before extinguishing, ensuring the wax has melted all the way to the edge of the container, this will help create a memory pool for the wax and prevent tunnelling
4. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time, allowing the candle to fully re-set before each use
5. Re-trim the wick before each use to ensure a cleaner burn clearing any debris from the candle each time

If the candle is giving off soot, has an abnormally high flame or soot residue is building up around the top edges of the container then gently snuff the candle (preferably with a candle snuffer), allow to cool, re-trim the wick and re-light
